The 7,000 Social Housing Units Project is a well-known livelihood project in Maldives, which is developed by Maldives state owned enterprise--Housing Development Corporation (HDC). The project, based on EPC+F contract with a value of 434 million USD, was officially kicked off on December 19, 2017 and completed and delivered to the owner on March 19, 2020. It consists of sixteen 25-story buildings, with each being 74.95 meters high, and the total floor space is 468,000 square meters. It has been so far the single largest housing project employing the most people in Maldives. Construction technologies of CFG pile composite foundation, climbing scaffolding and aluminum concrete formwork were applied during construction, which were all adopted for the first time in the Maldives.The completion of the project has greatly eased the housing problems that have been troubling the Maldivian government for a long time, and the project has also become a landmark in the Maldives.
