The project is located in Vientiane, the capital of Laos and covers a building area of 24,899 square meters. The Phase I project covers a area of 20,109 square meters, including the reception hall, the conference hall for a 500-people summit (equipped with simultaneous interpretation facility), the conference hall of senior officials, the press release hall, the bilateral conference room, the VIP room, the press area, the Secretariat, the multi-functional hall (to hold the opening ceremony of ASEM) and the auxiliary room. After completed, it served as the venue  for the 2012 ASEM  in Laos. Receiving whide praise, the project won the 2012-2013 overseas Luban Prize.
